Project - Sword/Katana
Hello all so this is my project one I got the idea from one of my favorite animes and the choice of weaponry they use which is swords or I guess to be politically correct Katanas (then again I may be wrong who knows) so below is the sword it's my favorite because it's so beautiful and elegant the only thing is I just couldn't make the ribbon swirl otherwise it would be a nice aesthetic. Yes, it's supposed to be white I really tried capturing the essence of the sword. And had to change the color even though it's supposed to be white the snow or any white texture or materials applied still make it looks bland, so I freestyled it lol.

I begin by creating a basic blade shape using a long and slender cylinder. By scaling and positioning it. I lay the foundation for the katana's blade. This step requires attention to the blade's length, curve, and taper, ensuring it embodies the elegance and precision associated with the katana.
the circular hilt, also known as the tsuka. To achieve this shape, I add a cylinder mesh and adjust its size and position to match the reference image. However, creating the circular opening in the hilt can be quite challenging. To overcome this, I leverage the power of boolean modeling.
With the blade and hilt in place, I add a cylinder that represents the circular guard, or tsuba, of the katana. By positioning it correctly, I can achieve the desired circular shape. Then, using a boolean modifier set to "Difference" mode, I subtract the cylinder representing the tsuba from the hilt, creating the circular opening. This boolean operation ensures clean and precise geometry, allowing the circular hilt to seamlessly integrate with the blade.
As I refine the model, I pay close attention to the subtle details that make a katana unique. This includes adding the menuki (ornamental grip embellishments which is in red) and the fuchi and kashira (hilt collar and pommel) to the handle.
